Miris Trails kicks off culinary tour at Jetwing Beach

December 11, 2013December 11, 2013
negombo-cooking-class-1The first session of the Cookery Class organized by Miris Trails, in alliance with Sri Lanka Tailor-Made (Jetwing Travels) kicked off on a spectacular note. The nature of the tour is primarily to cater to a discerning group of food lovers who will be staying at some of the finest hotels in the Sri Lanka, transferred across by personal chauffeur driven cars. The guests were warmly welcomed with garlands by the staff at Jetwing Beach, Negombo on the 02nd of September where they spent the evening in fellowship over dinner. The early morning visit on the 03rd September showcased sights of busy fishermen bringing to shore their catch; this served a good opportunity for our guests to purchase sea food for the cookery class that was to commence later that day. read more ->

December 10, 2013December 10, 2013
negombo-cooking-class-5A Sri Lankan entrepreneur based in Australia, hard on the heels of the new era of incentive travel and ‘enjoying an experience’, is organising the ‘Miris Trail’ – a culinary tour of the island for just eight couples. It is not enjoying lunu miris or kochchi miris in the real sense of the w ord but Sonali Peiris, director and founder of ‘Miris’, an organisation that produces a range of gourmet Sri Lankan condiments, says “this tour is designed for the gourmet traveler and is an evolution of the experience that I have tried to create with my range of products.” The luxury culinary tour of Sri Lanka combines the ‘joy of cooking with the pleasure of luxury travel’, according to an official statement by the organisers. Miris Trails’ inaugural tour to Sri Lanka is from 2nd to 16th September and involves some of Sri Lanka’s best chefs who w ill conduct six days of cooking classes at exotic locations across the island.   read more ->

Cooking classes in Sri Lanka

December 10, 2013
20130903_125538Sri Lankan Sonali Peiris is proud of her heritage – so much so she is in the process of organizing a 14-day tour of Sri Lankan regional areas for 16 people that will include a chauffeur driven car to seven destinations with five-star accommodation. However, the real tour attraction is the master cooking class, run at six of the destinations by the head chef of each venue –not surprising given Sonali’s promotion of her Hallam-based Sri Lankan herbs and spices business Miris Products, now in its seventh year and which already has won multiple awards.     read more ->
